Library Theatre Course Descriptions
Community and School Data: Joplin, Missouri, with its population of 41,000, provides diversified business, professional, agricultural and industrial services to a four-state region of 350,000 people.
McAuley Catholic High School was established in 1885. We are a regional high school serving Joplin and the surrounding communities.
McAuley is a 4 year high school with an enrollment of approximately 150 students. We are accredited by the Missouri Association for Accreditation of Non-Public Schools.
Academic Formation: A strong college preparatory curriculum develops the whole person - mentally, physically, and spiritually. Basic and advanced courses are available in English, Spanish, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Business, Fine and Graphic Arts, Physical Education, and Religion.
Academic Guidance: A well-coordinated academic guidance program has been developed for all grade levels. Each student's progress is closely monitored. Parents and students are guided through the college selection and application process.
Faculty and Staff: The professionally trained and certified faculty and staff are dedicated to providing quality education programs. A student/faculty ratio of 10:1 allows teachers to address each student's abilities and needs.
Required Testing:
Grade 9: National Educational Development Test (NEDT)
Grade 10: PLAN
Grade 11: PSAT/NMSQT and ASVAB
Grade 12: ACT and /or SAT
School test scores at all levels are above national averages, with many individual scores consistently above the 90th percentile range.
Character and Leadership Development: Ninety-five percent of the students participate in student organizations, fine arts presentations, academic and athletic competitions, and service projects. These activities, along with morals and values training, develop good citizens and future community leaders.
Accomplishments: Ninety-five percent of our graduates attend college and/or seminary. They are competitive in colleges and universities throughout the United States and many receive scholarships.
