The school year has quickly arrived and with the beginning of school comes the beginning of athletic events at both the high school and junior high. The booster club is looking forward to an exciting and fun year. As everyone knows the athletic events require a strong volunteer pool. We are asking for everyone to volunteer at the upcoming sporting events. The more people that become involved will mean a reduction in the time required for each person.

Last year the booster club tested a pilot program that had two purposes; the first purpose was to help as many of the organizations within our system as possible and the second purpose was to help reduce some of the volunteering responsibilities. With these two purposes in mind the booster club will make a standard donation to any organization that is interested in operating the concession stand at varsity games, this includes football and basketball. The booster club requires that adults be present to oversee any high school volunteers. This offer is open to any and all organizations that operate within in our JACS community.

The booster club will also be making a strong push to open greater lines of communication with the JACS community. Please check out the booster club link that can be found on the JACS web page. Lastly, the booster club received a good deal of feedback regarding the fees and the amount of confusion associated with the old fees. After some discussion the membership fees for the 2009-2010 year will be a flat $85.00 for anyone interested in being a member. This amount includes admission to all home sporting events, St.Mary’s, St. Peter’s and McAuley, and two adult booster club t-shirts.
