An endowment is a gift of money or other assets received by the school, often for a specific purpose. The principal is preserved and only the earnings and interest are used. Endowments, carefully managed for growth as well as current income, are the foundation for the long-term stability and success of the schools. A named fund becomes a permanent tribute to the person whose name it bears and may always be augmented. In many families donating to a grant fund established years ago has become a multi-generational tradition. Donors to Joplin Area Catholic Schools are welcome to contribute any amount to an existing endowed grant simply by making their gift and indicating an endowed designation. New endowed grants may also be created at any time under the guidance of the finance officers of our Diocese.
