ST. PETER'S HOME AND SCHOOL MEETING MINUTES 12-14-2011

Meeting called to order at 7:13 pm by Lisa Green.
Prayer led by Lisa Green.
Approved minutes from last months minute with motion made by Dwenda Katzfey and seconded by Tricia Jones.  All approved minutes
Treasurer's report from Heather Colson indicates a balance of $4,122.66 with recent profit of $1,414 on poinsettia sales.
Warrior cards final profit at this point $3,177.21.  However, WARRIOR CARDS are still available and can be sold with the entire ten dollars benefitting the school. 
A flyer will go out in the upcoming communicator to suggest people buy these to give as stocking stuffers for friends and family.  Warrior cards are available to buy and sell in the office.
 
Mrs. Bickford is being reimbursed for one scale purchased. She is ordering more as funds were budgeted for two of one type and three of another type for science classes.
Rugs for the foyer were purchased and bills paid.
A. R. Tests have been ordered and were part of the budget.  Bill will be paid was an invoice is sent. $200 was put in budget for AR tests.
 
Tricia Jones made a motion to purchase and give away a gift (water bottles) to students for school spirit. The best price found online was with discountmugs.com. The cost is to be $121 (actual $128).
 
Amy Teeter's candy sales have generated a profit of about $70.
 
Old Business:
Poinsettia sales, profit $1414, 330 sold in all, 30 in walk up sales.
Sales strategies for next year were discussed. Having students in the back of church after mass actually selling and taking orders, calling businesses that have ordered in the past and ensuring all are called by dividing the list alphabetically, and adding new businesses to the call list.
 
Old/New business:
The lock-in originally scheduled for Dec. 16th is being postponed since few plans were made.  It will shift to the movie night date of January 14th and will run from 7 to 11pm
Amy Teeter is getting in touch with the national guard to see if they will loan inflatables for the lock in. 
Discussion of movie selections for a movie night.  Ideas will be solicited from students and parents through a note in the communicator, not necessarily a family movie but should be rated g or pg.
January 14th will be movie night or lock-in depending on which can be best planned.
 
 
New business:
Christmas cheer, discussion of bringing in treats or lunch for teachers on December 21st.  Lisa Green volunteered to bring a veggie tray, Dwenda will bring pinwheels, cheese tricia, fruit tray Heather Colson and home and school will purchase a meat tray and dessert, with bread and rolls brought by Amy T.  Plates, napkins and condiments available at Mcauley with tea from Diane Strick.
 
Play selection: discussion of possible types of plays, still researching a possible melodrama is option, play should be an hour or less.  It is scheduled for the MPR on May 18th.. Auditions should be held no later than March 26th if not before spring break.
 
Munch Madness is scheduled for March 4th.  Discussion of possible picnic liquor license for a beer tasting area.  Stage area could be used for the beer tasting with adults at stairs to monitor those taking part. a separate punch card was suggested from the food punch card and specific cup sizes for tasting.   Suggested we contact both Macadoodles for possible discounts or Black Market with Heather Colson for help in purchasing.
 
Principal's report:  the upcoming holiday mixer is Wednesday the 21st at 10am, instructions for specific things to bring by grade level will be in the communicator.  Students are having (had) a room decorating contest with each class picking a theme. (Mrs. Durbin's class won)
