Dear Parent,
Here we are in the middle of Catholic Schools' Week and lots of activities are going on. Tomorrow is the Bishop’s Mass at 2:00 in McAuley’s gym. Students, because tomorrow is a Mass day, you will not be able to use a free dress pass. Parents and grandparents, don’t forget about the continental breakfast Thursday morning from 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM at McAuley’s MPR. Anyone wanting to watch the “Catholic Quiz Challenge” on Thursday afternoon at approximately 2:00, is very welcome. It will also be held in the MPR. Friday is early dismissal at 1:00 and is a “Renaissance Dress Down Day”.
Next Monday, February 6th, starts our ten day Virtuous Reality Program for 7th and 8th grade students. There is a flyer in the 7th and 8th grade communicator about the program.
Next Monday is also the final game for our boys’ basketball team. The game is at home against St. Vincent and starts at 6:00. That evening we will recognize all 8th grade basketball players and cheerleaders and their parents.
Don’t forget that Friday (February 3rd) is the deadline for “Golden Apple” teacher award nominations sponsored by the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce.
If anyone has any photos of St. Peter's games that they are willing to share with the yearbook, please give them to Mrs. Durbin.
The last day to order yearbooks is March 2nd. Extra order forms are in the office.
8th grade students and parents: We have a few students that we have not received baby photos from. Please give them to Mrs. Durbin as soon as possible. They will be returned.
8th grade parents: If you are interested in placing an ad in the yearbook for your student, please contact Mrs. Durbin at BDurbin@jacss.org.
Sincerely, Mr. Emory
Student Council: We will be selling Crush Soda beginning next week. Please see the enclosed order form for more details. We are also sponsoring a clothing and food drive for the Outreach House. All of the classes toured the Outreach House this week and noticed a need for these items. We are accepting all non-perishable food, clothing (all sizes, seasons, etc), blankets, sheets and towels. Please bring all donations to school and Student Council members will sort them and deliver them.
Campus Ministry: Any student who is interested in helping out at Head Start on February 7th or the Ronald McDonald House on February 15th needs to sign up in Mrs. Minor's room. We will be there from 4-5. Transportation to each place is available, but you will need someone to pick you up. We are also collecting fleece to make baby blankets for Life Choices and the Outreach House. Students who bring in fleece ( at least 40 inches) or $5 may wear fleece (sweatpants/shirts are also acceptable) on Friday, February 10th.
Renaissance: This Friday is a free dress day for Renaissance card holders. The rest of the schedule should be correct. Religion:
The religion classes are making cards for area seniors who receive "Meals on Wheels". We are looking forused greeting cards that we could cut the cover off to use as a card. If you have any that would work, please send them with your student. Thanks!
