Dear Parent,

It gets really busy this time of year with sports, magazine sales, book fair, Home and School projects, etc. going on.

St. Peter’s football team has a game today at Carl Junction starting at 5:30 p.m.  They play again this Thursday at Northeast (Arma, KS) starting at 6:00 p.m.  The players’ bus will leave McAuley parking lot at 4:00 p.m.

This Thursday, September 9th, is the 2nd turn-in date for magazine sales.  Please help with this fundraiser for JACS.

Reminder of the early dismissal this Friday, September 10th at 1:00 p.m.  No after school care will be provided.

Campus Ministry will meet this Thursday, September 9th, at lunch.  Students must bring a sack lunch to attend.

All Renaissance card holders may eat lunch in the cage this Friday, September 10th.  Renaissance card holders must bring a sack lunch to participate.

St. Peter’s Middle School will be preparing a meal for Ronald McDonald House the third Thursday of each month.  Students and parents are welcome to participate in this community service activity.  5-6 students will be able to participate each month.  If you or your child are interested, please let Mrs. Peterson know.

St. Peter’s Home and School is coordinating a fundraiser selling “Warrior Cards”.  These are sold for $10.00 each and have many choices for saving money.  Your student will bring some home on Friday.  Please help support our Home and School if you can.

St. Peter’s volleyball team (8th grade for this tournament) will go to Freistatt Saturday to compete.  Directions are available in the office.

The Library is holding its annual Book Fair in the school.  It starts Friday the 10th and goes until Friday the 17th.

Reminder:  “Open House” on Monday evening from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.  This will be a great time to visit the book fair with your student, as well as visit with all of the teachers.

Mrs. Black (our P.E. teacher) has again requested that all students dress out for class on Tuesday.  Some students are wearing their same shirt or shorts that they wear for class.

Mrs. Woods will be gone next week, so there will be no billing statements sent home on Tuesday for before/after school care or fine charges.  Please make sure your student has enough money in lunch account so lunch cards will scan properly.  If you have a question concerning the balance in lunch account, please call this week or call Mrs. Boyd at McAuley next week.

Please see the note below from Mrs. Durbin.

Sincerely,

Greg Emory

Dear Parent,

I’m pleased to announce an exciting trip coming up during June for any interested students, older siblings, parents, grandparents, and friends. From June 6 to June 14, 2011, we will explore London in Depth and Paris on an EF Educational Tour.

During our tour, we will visit many of Europe’s most famous landmarks, such as Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament and the Eiffel Tower. Local guides will give us behind-the-scenes looks at St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Louvre.

I have chosen to travel with EF because they have been in business for more than 40 years and have offices around the world, which makes me feel secure. EF is also accredited, which means that students can earn high school credit by going on tour and completing associated course work. Another factor in my choice is that EF guarantees the lowest prices for the highest quality. The cost of an eight-day trip is $2,950 and includes round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, a full-time EF Tour Director, daily breakfast and dinner, entrance fees to select attractions and guided sightseeing.

Discuss this fantastic opportunity with your son or daughter. Let them know that these trips are fast-paced and involve a lot of travel time and energy. Space is limited—act now!

We will have a Parent Meeting on September 30th at 7:00 in my room when we’ll go over the benefits of taking an educational tour and my tour’s details.  An EF Tour Representative will be here to answer any questions you may have. You can also visit eftours.com/student and type tour number 13995 in the Get Started section to find out more about the trip.

Warm regards,
