Dear Parent,
Welcome to you and your student(s) to St. Peter’s Middle School for the 2010-2011 school year.
The first day of school is Wednesday, August 18th.
St. Peter’s wishes to welcome back Mrs. Audrey Minor to teach English. Mr. Chuck Williams has taken the A.D. job plus coaching at McAuley. Ms. Kris Paapanen will teach Art for us this year. We are happy to have her.
Let me share some things that are happening before the first day of school:
Our annual all school pool party at Rosedale Pool is on Thursday, August, 12th from 6-8 p.m. This is sponsored by Home & School and STUCO is planning games with prizes as well as door prizes. The cost is $5.00 per family. Pizza and pop will be provided. Home and School would like to have a short meeting with parents under the pavilion starting about 6:30 p.m. The topics will cover Edline funding, planned fund raisers, possible new lockers, etc. Also, a video of last year’s talent show is now available. Orders will be taken for $10.00 each. The money raised will go to a fund for new lockers.
Orientation for 6th grade and new students is Sunday, August 15th from 1-2 p.m. We plan to have an all school Open House on Monday, September 13th, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The 6th grade is a larger group this year and we wanted to spend more time with them before school starts. We feel that meeting in September would give all students and teachers time to get in their routines. All 6th grade and new students will receive their schedules, and locker assignments and handbook/planner at orientation. Please read the parent/student agreement form (found in the front of the new student planner) and sign and return the form on the first day of school. Parents will also be able to put money on their students lunch account. Student lunches are $2.25. Milk is .25. We use McAuley’s scan system for lunch and each student will have a lunch card with a bar code on it. McAuley DOES NOT allow charging for lunch, so parents need to make sure student always has money in their lunch account.
Football Equipment pick-up on Sunday August 15th from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at McAuley from Coach Williams.
7th/8th grade may pick up their class schedules and locker assignments Monday, August 16th, and Tuesday August 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
STUCO “Block Party” to welcome everyone to St. Peter’s will be Friday August 20th, from 5:00-6:30 p.m. in the cage.
We are looking for volunteer parents to help in the library weekly (probably Thursdays), if interested please contact the school office at 624-5605.
