St. Peter’s Student Life
- Band: Students in Grades 6-8 can enroll in Band as one of his/her electives each quarter. Students do NOT have to have prior experience with music or playing a musical instrument. There are some instruments that are provided but students can, and are encouraged to, rent or purchase the instrument of his/her choosing.
- Campus Ministry: St. Peter’s Campus Ministry fulfills the JACS mission by continuing the mercy value of stewardship and service. We do service projects for the middle school, Outreach House, Watered Gardens, Children’s Haven, Bishops Intentions, food drives, and more.
- Drama: Students interested in musical theater or acting are encouraged to become a part of this program. Practices are held after school for at least two months prior to the performances. Students do not have to have a drama background but a willingness to work hard and attend practices to be a part of this group.
- National Junior Honor Society: The National Junior Honor Society is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.
- Quiz Bowl: Quiz Bowl competes against the junior high/middle schools in the conference. We will try to practice during advisory times during the school year as well as lunch. Only 10 students can compete.
- Student Council: The purpose of student council is to give students the opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body. They help share student ideas, interests, and concerns with the school wide community. The function of the student council is based upon parliamentary procedures. Ideas are presented, voted upon, and confirmed by the student body president. Any student that is interested in leadership, organizational behavior, event planning, or becoming more involved in the school are welcome to become involved.
Athletic opportunities
- Cheerleading: St. Peter’s Cheerleaders promote school spirit both during games and in school. We support the student athletes and cheer for boys and girls basketball. We strive to uphold and demonstrate Catholic Christian values throughout athletic competitions as well as academic classrooms. We are active, productive members of the school community. There may be some fundraising activities to help offset the cost of this activity.
