St. Mary’s Elementary students participated in a Stack Up! event on November 14 to help set a new Guinness World Record for the longest continuous cup stacking event in multiple locations in a 24 hour period. Elementary students in Mrs. Margie Black’s PE classes enjoyed an obstacle course and stations set up. There were a variety of fun and challenging activities that include both physical fitness and cup stacking. The event goal this year is 635,000 stackers from almost 3,000 schools and organizations from around the world. In addition, Mrs. Black pairs this event with a community outreach opportunity by collecting 2,000 boxes of gelatin/Jell-O that will be donated to the Newton Country Food Basket Brigade which prepares baskets of food for those in need at Christmastime.  If you would like to help with Jell-O donations, there is a box at the back of each church for your donations.
