On Veterans' Day, St. Peter's Middle School had two noteworthy visitors. Frank Marinez shared his military experiences including parachuting out of planes and receiving multiple Purple Hearts while in the US Army. Mr. Martinez served three tours in Vietnam and also served in Afghanistan. His courage and service are remarkable.
Brain Recinos Zoomed in from 29 Palms, California where he is serving our country as a US Marine. Brian has recently been deployed to Japan and The Republic of Korea. When asked if he ever got homesick Brain said "Yes, everyone does." He said his fellow Marines are an important part of combating homesickness. He also encouraged us all to look for the little things, the small moments to enjoy, in order to stay positive and focused. Brian told students that an important lesson he has learned is that things don't alway go your way--and that's okay, it's part of life. Just keep going and working to find a solution.
Brain is a Neosho native and an all-time favorite student of Mrs. Fry.
